Munajat e Imam Ali (a.s)

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْأَمَانَ يَوْمَ لَا يَنْفَعُ مَالٌ وَّ لَا بَنُوْنَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللّٰهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيْمٍ

O Allah, I ask You for safety on a Day when neither wealth nor children will benefit, except for him who comes to Allah with a sound heart.

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ الْأَمَانَ يَوْمَ يَعَضُّ الظَّالِمُ عَلىٰ يَدَيْهِ يَقُوْلُ يَا لَيْتَنِي اتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ الرَّسُولِ سَبِيْلًا

And I ask You for safety on the Day when the oppressor will bite his hands, saying: "Oh, would that I had taken a path with the Messenger!"

وَاَسْاَلُكَ الْاَمانَ يَوْمَ يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُوْنَ بِسِيْمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِيْ وَالْاَقْدَامِ

And I ask You for safety on the Day when the criminals will be recognized by their marks, and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet.

وَاَسْاَلُكَ الْاَمَانَ يَوْمَ لَايَجْزِيْ وَالِدٌ عَنْ وَلَدِہٖ وَلَامَوْلُوْدٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَنْ وَالِدِہٖ شَيْئًا ، اِنَّ وَعْدَ اللهِ حَقُّ

And I ask You for safety on the Day when no parent can avail anything for their child, nor can a child avail anything for their parent. Indeed, the promise of Allah is true.

وَاَسْاَلُكَ الْاَمَانَ يَوْمَ لَايَنْفَعُ الظَّالِمِيْنَ مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ وَلَهُمْ اللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوْءُ الدَّارِ

And I ask You for safety on the Day when their excuses will not benefit the wrongdoers, and for them is the curse, and for them is the evil abode.

وَ اَسْاَلُكَ الْاَمَانَ يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا وَّالْاَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلّٰهِ

And I ask You for safety on the Day when no soul can avail another soul in anything, and the command on that Day belongs to Allah.

وَاَسْاَلُكَ الْاَمَانَ يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ اَخِيْہٖ وَاُمِّہٖ وَاَبِيْہٖ وَصَاحِبَتِہٖ وَبَنِيْہٖ لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيْهِ

And I ask You for safety on the Day when a person will flee from his brother, and his mother, and his father, and his spouse, and his children. For every person among them on that Day, there will be a matter that will preoccupy him.

وَاَسْاَلُكَ الْاَمَانَ يَوْمَ يَوَدُّ الْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِيْ مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِئِذٍ بِبَنِيْہٖ وَصَاحِبَتِہٖ وَاَخِيْہٖ وَفَصِيْلَتِهِ الَّتِيْ تُؤْوِيْہٖ وَمَنْ فِي الْاَرْضِ جَميْعًا

And I ask You for safety on the Day when the sinner will wish he could ransom himself from the torment of that Day with his children, and his spouse, and his brother, and his kinsfolk who shelter him, and all those on earth.

، ثُمَّ يُنْجِيْہٖ ، كَلَّا، اِنَّهَا لَظىٰ نَزَّاعَةً لِلْشَّوٰى

then save him. No! Indeed, it is a Blazing Fire, stripping away the skin.

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ المَوْلىٰ وَاَنَا العَبْدُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ العَبْدُ اِلَّا الْمَوْلىٰ،

My Master, O My Master! You are the Master, and I am the servant. And who can have mercy on the servant except the Master?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْمَالِكُ وَاَنَا الْمَمْلُوْكُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الْمَمْلُوْكَ اِلَّا الْمَالِكُ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Sovereign, and I am the slave. And who can have mercy on the slave except the Sovereign?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ العَزِيْزُ وَاَنَا الذَّلِيْلَ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الذَّلِيْلَ اِلَّا الْعَزِيْزُ

My Master, O my Master, You are the All-Mighty, and I am the humble. And who can have mercy on the humble except the All-Mighty?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْخَالِقُ وَاَنَا المَخْلُوْقُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ المَخْلُوْقَ اِلَّا الْخَالِقُ

My Master, O My Master, You are the Creator, and I am the created. And who can have mercy on the created except the Creator?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْعَظِيْمُ وَاَنَا الْحَقِيْرُ وهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الْحَقِيْرَ اِلَّا الْعَظِيْمُ

My Master, O My Master, You are the Great, and I am the humble. And who can have mercy on the humble except the Great?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْقَوِيُّ وَاَنَا الضَّعِيْفُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الضَّعِيْفَ اِلَّا الْقَوِيُّ

My Master, O My Master, You are The Powerful and I am The Weak. And who can have mercy on the weak except The Powerful?

مَوْلَايَ يَامَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْغَنِيُّ وَاَنَا الْفَقِيْرُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الْفَقِيْرَ اِلَّا الْغَنِيُّ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Rich, and I am the poor. And who can have mercy on the poor except the Rich?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْمُعْطِيْ وَاَنَا السَّائِلُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ السَّائِلَ اِلَّا الْمُعْطِيْ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Giver and I am the supplicant. And does anyone have mercy on the supplicant except the Giver?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْحَيُّ وَ اَنَا الْمَيِّتُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ المَيِّتَ اِلَّا الْحَيُّ

My Master, O My Master, You are the Ever-Living, and I am the dead. And who can have mercy on the dead except the Ever-Living?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْبَاقِيْ وَ اَنَا الْفَانِيْ وَ هَلْ يَرْحَمُ الْفَانِيَ اِلَّا الْبَاقِيْ

My Master, O my Master! You are the Ever-Remaining, and I am the Perishing. And who will have mercy on the perishing one, except the Ever-Remaining One?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الدَّائِمُ وَ اَنَا الزَّائِلُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الزَّائِلَ اِلَّا الدَّائِمُ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Ever-Existing, and I am the Perishable. And who can have mercy on the perishable except the Ever-Existing?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الرَّازِقُ وَ اَنَا الْمَرْزُوْقُ وَ هَلْ يَرْحَمُ الْمَرْزُوْقَ اِلَّا الرَّازِقُ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Sustainer and I am the sustained. And who can have mercy on the sustained except the Sustainer?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الجَوَادُ وَ اَنَا الْبَخِيْلُ وهَلْ يَرْحَمُ البَّخِيْلَ اِلَّا الْجَوَادُ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Generous, and I am the stingy. And who can have mercy on the stingy except the Generous?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْمُعَافِيْ وَ اَنَا الْمُبْتَلىٰ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ المُبْتَلىٰ اِلَّا الْمُعَافِيْ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Granter of well-being, and I am the afflicted. And who will have mercy on the afflicted except the Granter of well-being?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الكَبِيْرُ وَ اَنَا الصَّغِيْرُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الصَّغِيْرَ اِلَّا الْكَبِيْرُ،

My Master, O my Master, You are the Great, and I am the small. And who can have mercy on the small except the Great?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْهَادِيْ وَ اَنَا الضَّآلُّ وهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الضَّالَ اِلَّا الْهَادِيْ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Guide, and I am the one who is astray. And who can have mercy on the one who is astray except the Guide?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الرَّحْمٰنُ وَ اَنَا الْمَرْحُوْمُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الْمَرْحُوْمَ اِلَّا الرَّحْمٰنُ

My Master, O my Master! You are the All-Merciful, and I am the one in need of mercy. And who can show mercy to the one in need of mercy except the All-Merciful?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ السُّلْطَانُ وَ اَنَا الْمُمْتَحَنُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ المُمْتَحَنَ اِلَّا السُّلْطَانُ

My Master, O my Master! You are the Sovereign, and I am the one afflicted. And who can have mercy on the afflicted except the Sovereign?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الدَّلِيْلُ وَ اَنَا الْمُتَحَيِّرُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الْمُتَحَيِّرَ اِلَّا الدَّلِيْلُ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Guide and I am the bewildered. And who will have mercy on the bewildered except the Guide?

، مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْغَفُوْرُ وَ اَنَا الْمُذْنِبُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الْمُذْنِبَ اِلَّا الْغَفُوْرُ

My Master, O My Master, You are the Forgiver and I am the sinner. And who can have mercy on the sinner except the Forgiver?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الْغَالِبُ وَ اَنَا الْمَغْلُوْبُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ المَغْلُوْبَ اِلَّا الْغَالِبُ

My Master, O My Master! You are the Victorious, and I am the vanquished. And who can have mercy on the vanquished except the Victorious?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ الرَّبُّ وَ اَنَا الْمَرْبُوْبُ وَ هَلْ يَرْحَمُ المَرْبُوْبَ اِلَّا الرَّبُّ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Lord, and I am the servant. And who has mercy on the servant except the Lord?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ اَنْتَ المُتَكَبِّرُ وَ اَنَا الْخَاشِعُ وَهَلْ يَرْحَمُ الْخَاشِعَ اِلَّا الْمُتَكَبِّرُ

My Master, O my Master, You are the Majestic, and I am the humble. And who can have mercy on the humble except the Majestic?

مَوْلَايَ يَا مَوْلَايَ ، اِرْحَمْنِيْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَارْضَ عَنِّيْ بِجُوْدِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ وَفَضْلِكَ

My Master, O my Master, have mercy on me with Your mercy, and be pleased with me by Your generosity, Your grace, and Your bounty.

يَا ذَا الْجُوْدِ وَالْاِحْسَانِ وَالطَّوْلِ وَالْاِمْتِنَانِ ، بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ

O Possessor of Generosity and Benevolence, and Bounty and Favor, by Your Mercy, O Most Merciful of the Merciful.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
